Regal Auctions Calgary - Jan 13 - Hercus Lathe and a couple of mills

Thx for the updates gentlemen. I like getting the intel on this type of sale. I remember buying my 4x6 bandsaw from princess auto for $220 -- new.
Thats why I'm sharing. It started out as sharing the info on the lathe and accessories, you know, metalworking stuff, and then it digressed offtopic into the WW kit. All useful info for getting a feel for Calgary auctions. I'm quite inexperienced myself at auctions in this city.

Lol, I snagged both sanders.

The old Rockwell is worth every penny as they are quite sought after. Last one I saw of that vintage and shape sell on Edmonton kijiji was 1500. I paid too much for the Newer Delta, but I'll get my money out of it on Kijiji and it'll be a wash.

I snagged both Rockwell/Delta Unisaws too. Both for friends. 700 for one and 550 for the other. Those are typically north of 750 each, and the more expensive one has a very nice Biesmeyer fence and a General overarm dust collector/kickback guard. I sold one of the General overarm DC/guards a couple years ago for 350 by itself.

I guess I know little about wood equipment then - this is mostly my dad's area of expertise. Through I am sure he would be shocked at the prices as much as I am.

Rusnok is worth at least 1500 when I fix her up. So should pay for my other toys.

If my friends dont take the Unisaws I'll clean em up, dial them in, and sell em for a few hundred profit. In the end I just wanted the Older classic beaver/rockwell sander. :)

Here's a comparable sander at Grizzly.

BusyBee doesnt have a comparable model, and King's offering in this size is really junk (dont ask me how I know).

Yes King is junk. I know that ;)

I know these things are not cheap but for used school equipment one wants a discount.

50% of new comparable replacements is a decent guideline for the 'bigger iron' WW pieces in my experience in the YYC area in 'working' condition. The more common the piece, the more discount off new. There are deals/steals occasionally to be had for sure.

Hell, a new Magnum/Craftex 3hp cabinet saw with a decent fence is 2500-3000.

Yes saws went for a good price. I sent you PM with an oscillating sander I have for sale using the 50% rule.
