Radial engine $3,000

If I’m not mistaken, these were the engines used in a Soviet era highwing single engine plane used as a tug for gliders in MB years ago. This plane had the advantage of a series of louvres in front of the engine that could be shut tight during rapid power off descents and not risk shock cooling the engine.

Sorry, but I can’t recall the name of the plane itself.

Always liked the idea of one of those in a street rod. Just to be different.
Mount a prop and build a snowmobile. Scariest looking thing I've seen and they said top speed was over 60 mph. I'm not a physics genius but 60 mph on lake ice delivering groceries and mail, what the heck do you use for brakes???

Saw this in Lac La Hache BC in 1965. Fellow bolted some skis and a prop onto a VW Beetle, took it out for a spin on the frozen lake. Snow drift at the north end of the lake ended that experiment. Even 60 years ago, the "hold my beer" crowd still had fun.
