That will be a step (belt) head, threaded spindle nose (2 1/4 x 8 tip), probably 120v 3/4 hp. These are pretty good lathes for what they usually sell for.
 
Yes, the one I had years ago was badged “TIDA”. It was 12x36 and retailed by Princess Auto.
oh wow, I see it now that you mention it.

a Tida TD-5AA was the lathe I learned on... I think it was the worst machine tool I've ever used. i suppose some of this was due to the lathe being abused and not set up right but overall I thought it was pretty cheesy. we did the thing you're not supposed to do (put it in high gear and backgear at the same time) to try to get the 3 jaw off but it was totally seized and we sheared some of the backgear teeth; the gears weren't hardened at all. some years later another student TIG brazed and angle ground teeth back into that gear; it worked but made a terrible racket...

it always surprises me that people say these machines are OK given my experience with one, but it's possible we had a particularly bad one. also I didn't know anything about machining back then...
