  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

I can't be the only one that's stared up at one of these and wished they had one over a workbench/machine...

We converted a modern surgical room light for a medical implant company a few years ago. Would have been fantastic as a bench light, if enormous (I think it was about four feet in diameter).

An old friend of mine had one mounted on a heavy duty iv cart. He had some tool racks/trays for tee handles, and frequently used stuff, and kept the iv hooks to hang a gear oil bottle full of gas upside down with fuel line attached for running motorcycles without a tank, and the other side hung a manometer for setting carbs. He was a bike mechanic and it was a damn near perfect setup for wheeling around a motorcycle lift in a tight shop.

I always wanted to make one too, but it wouldn't really function in my shop and would just be in the way. Closest I got was my mobile vise stand/tool holder, and it's also always in the way lol. Not to mention I no longer work on motorcycles, nor have space in the shop to do so. Still want to make one though :D.
