Has anyone here ventured down the optical comparator rabbit hole? I just bought one from a friend. It’s a pretty basic bench top model but should do what i need it for.
I just watched Keith Ruckers video on his, I don’t think I have seen him use it after that. Lol

Nice score. I wanted a nikon optical comparator from an auction that was going for a decent price, but I was bidding on a surface grinder at the same time and couldn't afford to buy both...

I should have bought it, but then Susquatch would not have a surface grinder

Funny how that works, missed out on some sweet machines having met my auction spending limit for the day. I still wish I had bought a beautiful Swiss years ago…. Lol

I have a Nippon Kogaku 6, fore runner of the Nikon 6C. What do you need to know?
I 3D printed Mitutoyo v-blocks for it and also converted to high intesity LED due to cost of replacement bulbs.

I've got one. Light enough I can carry it up a step ladder and put it on an upper shelf, where its been most of the time since I bought it. Fancy tool makers microscope has an equally thick layer of dust (on the cover)..... but they are there if need them 🙂
