  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

In years long gone by, I kept a 426 hemi piston on my desk....... They were simply BEAUTIFUL!

I have a single used piston from an old John Deere 70 (I think, it's been decades) sitting on my bench. Cut the skirt off at the bottom oil ring (below the wrist pin) & used it as an ashtray. Also have a coupla used sets of Harley ironhead Sportster (hemispherical) pistons. One set stock, one set for a stroker. The stroker ones are so short, the teflon button wrist pin retainer is machined for the oil ring.

<sigh> I know, I know, photos. It's such a PITA for me to get photos on this damnable machine...

Found some online. The stroker pistons shown here have metal wrist pin retainers, rather than my teflon ones:
