@Johnwa where did you find that photo? I couldn't find it on Lathes.uk. Link? I thought it was a Milnes, but maybe I read that plaque wrong.
And yes, I did mean that eggbeater-crankhandle-gear-collection cross feed, although the wood turning one deserves an honorable mention at least. I suspect that red salvaged-from-a-plumbing-valve handle in Johnwa's photo is for a clutch. I once had an elderly Seneca Falls that had a clutch on the apron vaguely like that. It also had legs that were pretty much identical and that could have once been equipped with a treadle, but it had a motor by the time I got it. In fact, they probably just kept the leg design long after treadles were buggy whips, because, "why change it".
Thanks! And that was a clutch. Quite the machine, but as the FB seller suggests, you'd probably use it as a conversation piece rather than a working lathe.
