Nice Modern lathe

Better be nice for $10,000

Well it does say "fully tooled" but I didn't see what they meant by that. It is a pretty large lathe in apparently nice shape. I'm thinking if it is in nice shape and at least "well" tooled $10000 may not be too bad of a price?

Maybe not a *super* deal, but far better than spending $10K on new, I think. A 1440 from Modern is 9K nowadays.

This appears to be the 14X60 model. a nice machine.

If anyone goes to look at this in person, can you tell me if that is a real "pocket watch" clock in the top l/h corner of the photo? Maybe just a poster? If it is a clock and he is selling it, I would be interested. :)

I zoomed in and based on the shadow on the wall I'd say it's a real clock.

One thing that stands out is that there is only 1 picture. 1.
Description is also a bit spartan "Fully tooled Metal Lathe".

So given this its a mystery deal - I do not know what "Fully tooled Metal Lathe" is. As for the model I have to trust Dabbler - to me it looks like a 16" lathe - but I am no "Modern" expert. I just think that it has a same gear box as many other 16s - but Dabbler is better at these things.

It could easily be a 16, The scale here isn't easy. Originally I typed 16 and then reconsidered. Maybe it is a 15" like mine.
