New tracking at Amazon

Yesterday, I ordered a small 3/8 drill chuck with a 1/4" hex arbour and a 1/2" drive adapter. I thought it might make some of my small woodworking jobs easier as long as it wasn't a piece of junk. Returns are easy with Amazon. So I took a chance.

Today, I got a notice that it was out for next day delivery. An hour later, I was clearing my notifications and clicked on the delivery notice. This is the screen I got!

I could hardly believe my eyes!

There, right on my screen was real-time location of the delivery driver as well as how many stops he had before us! We sat and watched till we were next, and there came the truck! Wow!

That outfit called "Here Canada" is about to get really rich! What a fantastic idea and a great improvement! I bet it's only a matter of days before they get contracts with FedEx, Canada Post, etc.

In case you are wondering, the little chuck is amazing. It's got ball bearings and it is as smooth as silk. I don't expect great runout with a hex shaft, but on first blush it is WAAAY better than I expected. It is not going back!

Another little surprise - black staples on the black Neiko packaging! Who does that!

Have seen this for the last ~6 months on some orders if you look at the right time. It's kinda neat.

Dominos has been doing this for years with their delivery drivers.

Amazon uses several delivery services to here and the continuous tracking doesn't appear to be available for all of them. Perhaps tracking should be part of the new contract for the posties <G>.
