  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am very much an amateur when it comes to machining. I first used a metal lathe when I went to SAIT for Engineering Design back in the 90’s and I loved it. I bought a little Craftex B1979C years ago to make some simple car and bike parts and I can honestly say it is the best tool I have ever bought.

Looking forward to being a member here.

Cheers

Welcome from Ontario Farm Country south of Chatham.

I agree. My lathe is my very very favorite tool. I love the other machines too, but my lathe is whole level higher up.

Welcome to the club !!
Millarville must be one of those intersections out in the Boonies.
What is there ?

Southwest of Calgary.
35 years ago, some buddies and I drove out to Alberta from the Grand Bend area and wound up in Brooks to see another buddy, must be close to you.
Lots of experience here, for machining, building and sales development.
I spent years designing process equipment for Kellogg’s, Armtec (Big O) and SIHI Vacuum Systems.
