  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Wow! it took a while to finally get a confirmation email - I'm glad to have finally made it here.
I'm based in the GTA and know very little about "proper" machining, but here to learn. I have a "updated" Emco5 CNC lathe, just got a Novakon NM200 mill, and recently bought a lot of machinist tools. I think I have enough that I don't know what I'm doing, but ready to jump in, thanks for the welcome.
I cast bronze and aluminum for some of my projects as a designer/renovator and am learning how to use the mill and lathe.
I have a few updates/repairs I need to do on my mill, clearing out the plugged/leaking oil line and replacing the gas shock, but am thinking about changing from mach3 on both machines as the xp computers are being temperamental.

Welcome aboard, apologies for the delayed registration email. We've been having issues on that front but they are sorted now.

You're close. Brampton here. I have some on my Instagram page/website, not sure if that's ok to post it as it's my business... I'll dig some up to post. or DM you...mostly "rough" casting as that's what my clients liked.
