Need 3” round mild steel bar. Calgary

I need a short length of 3” bar. 4” to 6” is enough. I will trade an equal length of 4” 4140.

I guess 4140 isn't better for anywhere mild steel wouldn't be good? Just curious.

I’m making a D1-4 spindle gage so I don’t need 4140. Rather than just turning an inch of the OD into chips, I’ll trade it to someone who can use the 4140.

I also mostly have 4140 and 4330. Does it have to be 3" I may have 2" or 2+ but I doubt anything in 3" .

@Tom Kitta yes it needs to be 3” or larger. The registration taper is about 65mm, plus there needs to be a bit of a shoulder, so 75mm/3” is about right.
