Like a lightning rod shifter in a Hurst-Olds.....Had a friend that had a Tri-Leva equipped lathe. Worked well, and was apparently well liked in industrial circles, for its pretty much instant speed changes, as pulling any other lever released the one that was engaged, and tensioned the belt that you wanted running.
As a former ML7 owner, I would not buy one again unless you want it as a collectors item. The top speed of ~1200 RPM, spindle bore of 5/8in means paired with a very high price for its capability means its not worth it IMO. The super 7 or ML7R on the other hand are totally worth it if you find one for a good price.
Take your word for it. By the time I started to pay attention to cars and bikes, old Brit stuff had all MY attention!Like a lightning rod shifter in a Hurst-Olds.....![]()
Wasn't always the case, IIRC the last two I bought were well under the price of a weekend ski trip... To a nearby ski hill...All MyFords are overpriced. I also had one but it was way too much $$$ for way too little lathe.
Super 7 would be easily over 5k in AB market.
I was thinking Liberty transmission.Like a lightning rod shifter in a Hurst-Olds.....![]()
