Moving a couple CNC machines today...

Neat. So you do a lot of these specialty transports?
Not as much as I’d like, but yes I do.

Funny story- brought back a couple CNC machines a couple years ago from the USA. Marked down “CNC lathe” and “CNC mill” on the customs paperwork.

The border agent rejected that, she made me go ask a broker to google what “CNC” meant before she’d clear them for entry. I was actually kind of speechless, I didn’t have the faintest idea what “CNC” meant. I think it’s computer numerically controlled? Something like that

It’s pre-CNC but I still thought it was cool. Snagged a large socket that was custom purposed, decided to keep the large wrench I have and start a collection of large things.
The riggers were guessing the press was from the ‘60s.

That’s the first machine, for me, they had like a car cover for. After it was loaded they draped the cover over it, then I put down moving blankets for tarp padding, then flipped out the tarps

I think the rumour has exceeded the performance by a lot. I'd have to think long and hard on how to move a beast like that. It must have been 13000 lbs easily.

Not even close, closer to 26,000 lbs actually

They loaded it with a forklift then used a clam on a picker to unload, but I don’t think they worried about damage unloading

I like your answer, "nothing to it but to do it"

It's just a matter of having the right crane for the radius...and the right rigging. 1 phone call away.
