Spotted this 3D printed part on Kijiji for storing cordless Milwaukee tools:

Depending on your shop space it could be a good solution.

Simple search and lots of ideas you can print.

I don't see why/how any of these ideas beat throwing all the tools in a cardboard box or a cordura bag under a workbench...... Even a pile on a shelf is better than that.

Aw come on Sus, I'd have thought you would have been ecstatic. A flat horizontal space piled up, well down, with stuff. Perhaps you're just miffed that someone out Sus'd the Sus.

Nah, the idea sucks. Piled up yes, down no. It's waaaay too organized to be remotely chaotic or efficient. Worse, it is probably infectious despite the fact that they appear to be practicing social distancing. If a guy started doing that kind of organizing, the next thing would be labels on the slots and jars full of screws with lids attached to the bottom of a shelf.

I've tried really hard to like these tool storage blocks that hang tools by the battery slot. One one hand, it's the perfect versatile solution because every tool has the same interface. On the other hand, due to the shape of the tool, they take up way more room than business end storage solutions sometimes.

I'll be dealing with this shortly, as my current tool storage wall needs to move to make room for the belt grinder, and I have a 5 new tools that will need a home in the new spot too. I gotta get off my ass and go unload the OSB from the trailer and get going on this.....

I might print some blocks like this for certain tools, but I still prefer things like drills to be stored by the business end, so I can grab and go.
