What's the difference between a -30 and a -40?

My old mill drill needs some work

Back when I was looking for a good knee mill, I posted a few things about my old mill drill. It's a bench top round post model with no real z axis other than the quill. The head can be cranked up and down a fair bit to gain working space but totally loses x&y in the process so fairly useless...

His link would have been mine.

I've used the machine exactly twice since I got my Hartford Clone working. And that was only to avoid setting up a part twice.

So it's taking up space and needs to find a new home.

Ya, it's a hybrid in many many ways. If you read the whole thread at the link @YYCHM provided, the mystery just gets deeper.

It's a lot bigger machine than it looks too. But it also has significant issues. If I had decided to live with it, I'd have installed a DRO and run it till it quit - which is probably a good 20 years more than I'll live.
