Looking for an appropriate motor

The table on the drill press is about 65lbs, even with everything freshly restored and greased it's still a hard slog to crank the table up.
I'm looking for ideas of commonly available motors that I could modify to do this job for me.
From some of the videos I've seen, 150-200 rpm seems to be the sweet spot but because of the weight I'm probably not going to get away with a windshield wiper motor like others have done.

There is a 3/4" shaft that drives the bevel gear and I can easily make up a similar shaft and taper it down to whatever diameter is needed.
I would rather stay away from pulleys/belts if possible and would prefer some kind of inline motor.
My first thought was using an old 1/2" hammer drill gun but most of them go straight to 500rpm.
Thanks

A little overkill, and $$, but aside from a custom mounting plate, and shaft adapter, should be pretty plug and play with enough umph and variable speed to do the job.

Other than that, scour the local clasifieds for small motor/gearbox combos that could be repurposed.

These popped up the other day on my radar, and I've been trying to think of a reason to buy one the past couple days, but none are jumping out at me. ring roller drive perhaps? They're just down the road from me too.

Here's an RV slide gearbox. Not saying "this" particular one is a good buy (seems $teep), but might give you a trail to sniff. With the amount of junked out Rvs out there, I'm sure you might be able to turn up a much cheaper one. They're not too fast either, and would probably be plenty strong enough.

Here's a much cheaper one.

It might be overly complicated, but a NEMA 34 stepper can really pound out the torque at low RPM.

OR something like this?

You've got me thinking about a power Z on the mill again.....

Find someone throwing away / giving away / cheaply selling a battery operated drill that doesn't have a battery. Planetary gearbox, lots of ompf, slow speed and adjustable if needed.
Then you just need a 12v or whatever voltage power supply to drive it (or a battery!).

The low speed motor in Post #6 is what I was thinking as well, actually cheaper than some of the Aliexpress versions. I noticed some of the control boxes had reverse & others did not so best to verify

Thank you gentleman, great ideas. Hadn't realized there were so many options.

You are lucky. My drill press has a full post from the floor to the head and the table just slides on the post manually. I added an XY table to the drill press table. Total weight is prolly well over 100 pounds. No gearing at all. Just manual grunt. But I'd never sell it.
