I ain't up on prices and don't doubt new equivalent welder would be double that or more but that thing has to be knocking 25 years old??? I've also heard that the control boards in those things are expensive if available. Seems like too much for the vintage to me but I could easily be off base.

that thing is for sure 20 years old, looks to be in excellent shape, but, if a board went you would be screwed, i dont know about the asking price, seems high given the year, and that you could get a v350 at auction for that much

it's just all really old, out of production for at least 20 years, and far to big for most garage guys

There have been at least 2 generations of inverters welders put out by Lincoln since that baby was in stores (as well as the accessories)

I don't think it's a bad price, it's just the age that really hits is value, and saleability

I have been using John Nielsen's Lincoln 180 inverter welder, and it is a very sweet unit for hobby welding. It has a rock stable arc, and does a great job. john bought his for less than 150$ with some missing parts purchased, but they can be regularly seen for under 200$ around Calgary. (he offered to find me one, but I have a Millermatic 250 that would get jealous if I bought a Lincoln) :p

How do you like your 250?
