Hello gang. Several years ego, on garage sale, I bought cheap (Chinese) no name welding inverter. I used it only for stick welding until now and it si was OK considering all above. Finally I hooked up argon cylinder, changed electrode polarity and nothing happened. Here is what I have so far:
1. Stick works - I would assume inverter is OK
2. Oscillator works when I am switching to the TIG mode - I see small arc and hear zapping sound between tungsten tip and base metal.
3. I am hearing gas valve clicks and gas is flowing when pressing button on TIG handle.
4 No high power arc on TIG at all even if I am touching tip to the base metal...
Obviously I am connecting TIG cable to the right outlet which is seen as disconnected on the picture, ground goes to minus and button is connected to that middle connector.
Any thoughts? Is anybody had or have similar device with instruction/schematic ? Any other tests to perform?
