Hey, don’t mind me. Been working with wood about a month! Karrap rod for that.

I have been putting off finishing this because I have too many other half finished projects on the go to feel good about moving this up the list.
Well, today it was too cold for much else, so no guilty feelings here. ;)

I like this much better, lathe legs are well supported and bolted to the channel iron and the adjustable feet are just outboard making it more stable. The floor in here is horribly unlevel as the pictures show. It's way worse in the corner with the big shaper, for that one I think I will cut the floor and pour a footing to mount it to, but that's down the road, way down....
The best part is that the lathe is about 3 1/2" higher than it was, and at over 6'4" every little bit helps. :p

Those look great! I hear ya on the height thing. I was hunched over my lathe for a few hours this morning, and still have a few more to go too. Sitting here finishing dinner, and dreading going back out there.....A new taller lathe stand has been on my radar for a while, but same thing, too many other half finished projects begging for attention to start another one.

Duck boards should take care of that and add a little bit of comfort, a trade off I would take all day long. So, no mistake has been made here, you're just not finished yet.
@Susquatch, you hear that? @David might have a project laying around unfinished, he might just be human after all. :p
Bahahaha I already made a duckboard for the lathe :)
Back to the CNC conversion

Interesting way to solve the "standing in front of the lathe" problem, is to not have to stand in front of it at all.....you just gave me an idea of where I could put the little CNC lathe I have stuffed under my welding table for now. Levels D. I could mount it on the wall, above my other lathe......I feel like Kramer right now, but that might actually work......

You had me at CNC lathe...

Well, being as you don't plan on having to stand in front of it, you could mount it so that it never needs cleaning..... Hang it from the ceiling and put a bucket under it. :p

It's just a small benchtop trainer lathe from the 90's/2000's in need of a retrofit I bought a couple years ago. It was supposed to be a quick winter project, I just haven't figured out which winter I'm going to do it in yet....

That's the best part! Chips just fall down :D.

I just went out to the garage, and this might be doable.....Not perfect, but doable. Still wont happen THIS winter though lol.
