I used hockey pucks, a dimple and a rounded end of 3/4" redi-rod. Being simple I welded a nut on the end.
The only thing simple about me is, well, me.I used hockey pucks, a dimple and a rounded end of 3/4" redi-rod. Being simple I welded a nut on the end.

I think this looks a little better....... One end done, one to go. I am kinda in the dog house for dragging home another stray truck, so after today, my shop play time could be rather limited.
Good news is, once you're in the doghouse, she can't send you to the doghouse.View attachment 56097View attachment 56098

I guess I'm lucky, mine has a door with a moon shaped window and indoor plumbing.
If memory serves, @140mower is quite tall. Don't think he's gonna fit...
Duck boards should take care of that and add a little bit of comfort, a trade off I would take all day long. So, no mistake has been made here, you're just not finished yet.And then there me who built his lathe stand too tall.
Bahahaha I already made a duckboard for the latheDuck boards should take care of that and add a little bit of comfort, a trade off I would take all day long. So, no mistake has been made here, you're just not finished yet.
@Susquatch, you hear that? @David might have a project laying around unfinished, he might just be human after all.
You had me at CNC lathe...Interesting way to solve the "standing in front of the lathe" problem, is to not have to stand in front of it at all.....you just gave me an idea of where I could put the little CNC lathe I have stuffed under my welding table for now. Levels D. I could mount it on the wall, above my other lathe......I feel like Kramer right now, but that might actually work......
Well, being as you don't plan on having to stand in front of it, you could mount it so that it never needs cleaning..... Hang it from the ceiling and put a bucket under it.Interesting way to solve the "standing in front of the lathe" problem, is to not have to stand in front of it at all.....you just gave me an idea of where I could put the little CNC lathe I have stuffed under my welding table for now. It's just a small benchtop trainer lathe from the 90's/2000's in need of a retrofit I bought a couple years ago. It was supposed to be a quick winter project, I just haven't figured out which winter I'm going to do it in yet....You had me at CNC lathe...
That's the best part! Chips just fall down .Well, being as you don't plan on having to stand in front of it, you could mount it so that it never needs cleaning..... Hang it from the ceiling and put a bucket under it.
