Saw this in a photo of a lathe being auctioned off. Apparently this is mounted on the side of the lathe. Near as I can tell, it's metal and the dimples are for your finger. Rotate the inner wheel to align diameter with cutting speed and the matching RPM is displayed. Recommended cutting speeds are in the table inside the wheel. Pretty simple, but I thought it was a neat tool. Did a quick search and didn't find any info (about the slide rule).
