  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. This resembles a B048 style mill. Great for a knifemaker, but the column-spindle distance is quite short, just over 7 inches. I sold mine because that was way too constraining.
 
Thanks. I don't want to get in a bidding war with you so let me know if you reach him and if you are not interested. Funny, I much prefer email for both buying and selling. It is an easy way to keep track of the order of inquiries so I can offer it in order. I always respond even if it is only to tell them they are number 5 on the list.

AHHHHHH! Someone is coming Saturday to look at it. Probably buy it. $1500. I bet he’ll be buying it. I will check back Saturday just in the off chance

If you would be willing to pay the asking price - or more-my recommendation would be to let the seller know right away. Sometimes the first 'buyer' will try a lowball offer, or just won't show at all. It's good to establish your place in the queue! :) I bought my Logan lathe that way.

True story - I was the *third* to view a mill that was less than half market value. Less than the price of a mill/drill in iffy condition. Less than 100 hours use, Came with tooling. The First 2 had the audacity to lowball the seller. I asked if they'd take a cheque (while they were answering the phone on another possible buyer). They told the caller it was sold. This is after I told them it was worth double their asking price. The seller didn't care. The comptroller set the price, firm. Success!
