X2 on the vevorOther than the price?
My Vevor has been excellent.
anything not to like about that one?
I drilled like 90ish 5/8 holes in my welding table in 2 hours with an annular cutter with my vevor unit.I've gotta think the Makita might last longer but then again, my Vevor purchases have been just fine.
For the kind of scratch they're asking, I see a lot of rentals in my future.I honestly don't understand why mag drills will be so expensive
I looked at renting and Sun rentals would only do a full day at $150. So double that and I had a drill from Vevor. For the kind of scratch they're asking, I see a lot of rentals in my future.

I picked up a lightly used Dewalt mag drill (corded) for $300 two weeks ago, under exactly those conditions. One-man railing company needed it for a job, cleared it out after. At that $$$ it pays to buy and resell even if you need it for a day!
It has a quick-release chuck (for annular cutters), and comes with a Jacob’s adapter, but I noticed it has extremely limited range with the chuck in. I think it was something like 2” or less from chuck face to surface, with the drill wound all the way back. Is that typical? First time mag driller questions. :|
I like that ideaIf you are feeling like machining you could make adapters for your drills so they can use Weldon shank. Either buy screw length drill bits or make your own (probably more work than making shanks).
After 15 year my chinese mag drill belched out the magic smoke and I can't seem to put it back in. So Joe, I went and got your link, and yep there it is, 300 rpm variable 1650 watts and discontinued...dammit. The closest thing they now offer is 1550 watts ,variable and 500 rpm max. It is very well made compared to my old smokeless one. I am impressed. Brass slide rails and the variable speed works smoothly.I drilled like 90ish 5/8 holes in my welding table in 2 hours with an annular cutter with my vevor unit.
Paid $325 at the time. I figured it was cheaper then farming out the job, and no way I was hand drilling them.
I don't know how reliable the magnet parts are, but id assume with how many years they've been around, the corded drill portion will last a long time, maybe require brushes at some point

I am still cracking up over the user manual. They say you can use hollow drills or fried dough drills up to two inches. Fried dough is twisted I assume. I'm going to have to see if I can chuck a piece of fried dough.
