Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. I used the Wadeo drawings to create the X motor mount. Next time I would simplify that design but it was a test of my CNC router and Fusion360 CAM skills so worth it.
HTD3M belts and pulleys for X and Z (1:1 ratio), nothing over kill needed. Except for drilling even the 470oz in torque Nema 23 motor is overkill in my experience.

Oh boy! Here I go down another Rabbit Hole. I really like the ELS option for sure. I think I am better off not buying a set of change gears for my 1022 and putting that towards an ELS? I see several options but not sure my best option. What is a reasonable cost for a complete setup?

Rocketronics ELS Pro is currently around CA$800 including shipping plus encoder, motors and drivers. Metric only. They have a lower priced option which can be imperial or metric.
I think the DDCS controllers are around CA$450 from AliExpress plus encoder, motors and drivers.
Not sure what John D's version cost is.

I was just looking at the Rocketronics ELS Pro and $800 is a bit too much for me plus the metric only. Have to look and see what John D’s cost will be. Lots to ponder.
