  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Am I missing something here? The whole machine is going for $1500 or just one part of it?
 
Looks about right price for it - old CNC that needs work go for around $1000. It *may* be worth it to just part it and scrap the rest. Not sure.

Looks like it may cost around $20k+ to make it actually into a CNC or maybe not - depending on whom you ask and how much work you want - there are threads of people using surplus parts and going under 2k - however they replace every wire in the whole machine.

10 years ago same lathe in the US was $1300 USD. 10 years ago it was much more of a hot "item".

This is a "project" lathe.
 
It’s hard to say without seeing it or talking to him some retrofits like the Acorn might be cheaper.
 
I’m working on a lathe centroid acorn style. It’s going to add up. Not $20k but a few thou in parts computer, boards, encoders, motor drivers, software....
