If you could own just one special vehicle what would it look like?

I was out this morning and spotted "the one". I asked if I could take a photo and got the thumb's up (pretty sure it was a thumb). I'm not a serious car guy but I can appreciate a sweet ride when I see it. Generally, I am more concerned about utility over style and performance. But even my wife and kids know that if I were to buy a Sunday driving vehicle it would look like this '51 Ford.

I'd like to build something along these lines, not as extreme with the chop or lowering, with a turbo something, like 235 I6 to be different

I was about half way through building a 27 t 12/15 years ago, but lost motivation, and even then I wanted a model A, ended up selling it, with some regrets

I've always like the sleeper sedan sort of style.
As a kid I wanted a Datsun 510 BRE racing car like I had in my AFX slot car setup.

Then I had an aircooled VW phase and owned a few Dubs. '65 Ghia, 72 Super Beetle, 72 Type 2.
Always wanted something like this. Fellow down the street from me has a really nice 60's Beetle with a built 2007cc engine. I stop and look every time he drives by. Sounds amazing.

Love to have one but the prices are just insane.

I had a '69 Ghia when I was in college. I worked part time at a repair shop where one of the mechanics was a VW specialist. Somehow on a shoestring budget I managed to buy the parts for 2000cc rebuild & wangled some kind of carpentry labor exchange. Then I met a guy at school who was autobody painter. I did the prep & he did the maroon metallic (from stock VW orange). Looked a lot like this. It was fun & unique but not recommended for a starving student or Calgary winters. I was the weird dude scraping ice off the INSIDE of his windshield LOL. It had a gas(oline) heater but the locomotive huff & puff flames made me nervous. I really wanted a Datsun 510 for some strange reason too, but working on cars was just not in the cards. My home garage is fully occupied, so I guess I need to find a second one..

Mine would be a copy of the 1970 Boss Mustang in bright Orange and Black that I used to own till my brother rolled it.

My other choice would be the Benz - the first Petrol motorized vehicle in the world. Invented by Karl Benz in 1886 in Mannheim - the town where my family came from. If I could afford it, I might even put a big white rope around it with a squawk box.... LOL! There is actually one a few km away, but I'd have to sell my wife and kids to afford it.

Reflecting on this since posting earlier, one of my "dream" cars as a teen was a Subaru 2.5rs coupe. I was always a big WRC fan back then, and a big Colin McRea fan too. Probably not too many good specimens left, but when they came out with that car in '98, I've kind of always wanted one since.

Oh yes, I still want a WRX. I had a Legacy that was both a good and awful car. Good because it was a blast to drive especially in the snow but bad because it seemed like a bit of a lemon. The two front seats had different upholstery from the dealer and it had a habit of warping the right side exhaust manifold. Turned out that one of the cylinders was running lean because of an intermittent wiring fault.
