ID grinding spindles, quills and bits

I dont know if the original oil was green, or if this green colour is the result of oxidation and/or a solvent reaction with the canola oil but after a while of running in the spindle and adding fresh oil to the spindle the oil that was leaking past the seals started showing this green tint.

Maybe some Copper or Brass in there?
