Ok it's not really new, it's between 110 and 112 years old, but it's new to me.

My nephew brought it by for me today. He aquired it and it had a chunk missing from the heel so he chopped it off, milled the top steel plate smooth again and gave it a paint job.

I figure it looks pretty good considering it's age. He'll I'm half as old but don't look as good, but then I've probably had more beatings on me than that anvil.

I never heard of Berlin, Ontario before but apparently that was Kitchners name for a while.

I found a picture of another anvil of the same make on the interweb to show how the heel of it would have originally looked.

Finally got a stand made for the dang thing. I have been schlepping it around the top of my welding bench for too long.
If I were to make it again I'd give the tripod a bit wider stance. It could be pulled over as it is now, not really easily but quite possible. I was just guessing on how wide the stance needed to be without getting clumsy and arkwardly wide but not too narrow to be tipsy.

It's kind of dying down but Kitchener has their Octoberfest, a nod to the roots. I was warned years ago to watch out for the drunks driving during the day, most likely just trying to get home, during Octoberfest. The chicken dance is always fun I don't care how old you are, even Susq could pull it off

Nice anvil!
