The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Horizontal Milling Machine $2,000

The guy who bought my Atlas mill (here in BC) said that it was worth it to him to fly to Toronto, buy his myford lathe, rent a truck, and drive it back rather than buy one here at then current local prices. Of course, that was years ago before gas was so pricey. If I could fit this in my little electric car I'd consider driving to Mississauga to get it!

Can't you tow a small trailer?

There is one chapter in the Nissan Leaf manual on "Trailers". It has one sentence. "Don't do it". I have seen them with trailer hitches used for Bike racks, and I'm sure towing a light trailer would do no more than decrease the range on a charge, but I'm not quite ready to try that yet!
