I had a claim denied once for exactly this reason. Get separate liability cover and photograph everything before the tools pile up.

I was told by my insurance that the workshop as detached accessory building and their equipment will fall under my home insurance unless the value of the workshop and equipment exceeded the total home coverage. Motorcycles, even if vintage and not road worthy, will not be covered as they require separate vehicle insurance. No commercial activities. No other clue on insight on how things will go down if I need to file a claim but I'm hoping I won't need to.
