  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

It's sad though, somewhere one more of "us" wore out before the tools did. It certainly doesn't look like the typical " wanted to try metal working but wasn't my cup of tea" type of shop. A lifetime of knowledge and skill has left a void in the community I am sure. :(

I had the same thought, just didn't want to say it. There's always a story behind the ad. Sometimes I go searching for it, sometimes I wish I didn't, like the auction in AB a couple months ago. Pretty tragic set of circumstance behind that one. Just a couple living the dream right up until they weren't.

If the price is real, it's a steal! I'd be all over that and then sell the machines. But I doubt that price is really for everything.

1234 is online code for contact for pricing. I think this guy was working on rifles? Some of the drills in the pictures are very long? Or maybe some thing else? Sad as others have said machining is a dying hobby.
