  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. The two pins saves you time trying to get the hole saw off the arbor after it tightens on with use. I had a hole saw kit, from can. tire that I would use when I needed too, just a thread on arbor. Then I bought a bunch of hole saws with arbors (that had the two pins) from a garage sale. Always go with the arbor with the two pins when I can now. Just my thoughts.
 
I have never used carbide hole saws. Std bimetal blades have always worked well for me. Mostly sheet metal up to 1/4" and other various wood and plastic cutting. I'd get a good bimetal set, and if you find you're burning up a particular size replace with carbide. Unless you find a good deal on a carbide set, or feel like spending money. I'm cheap, and hate that part lol.
