Hi, George from Bangalore, India

Welcome @trackwhack from Calgary.

CNC Shop? India? ! That sounds amazing. We'd love to see some pictures of your shop. What do you make?

Lots of talk about CAM lately on the forum. Some new alternatives on the market. Quite a few of us use Fusion for CAM, some absolutely refuse to, and various other options are in use. What are you exploring?

EDIT-> Oh I just saw your post and Takshakcam.com is you George!. Nice to have you here.

We make simple gantry mills for Non Ferrous work, primarily focused on Composites but rated for anything non ferrous. some snaps of one of our factory machine, excuse the clutter.

Our USP is a the superstructure made out of Carbon Fiber and Fiber Glass composites allowing for a machine that's stays mechanically true far longer than if we used cast iron or extruded aluminium.

The whole CAM drive was due to our own sales being affected by the prohibitive cost of CAM.
I tried to reason with Fusion that they could have a lower cost CAM solution for small shops, but they were dismissive, so we decided to build a CAM ourselves - what with devs being dime a dozen from where I come (Bangalore). But the real acceleration started about 6 months back with AI allowing us to polish our software quite a bit.
I wont compare ourselves to Fusion - they are a complete product, we are only a utility CAM, but our product does well, what it does, and we will refine it over the next couple of years to make sure it offers a lifetime of value to our customers.

Very nice George! Do you have a sales web site? What control software are you running there?

We offer multiple controllers including LinuxCNC for those who prefer a PC experience. We have a Standalone Controller based on the Fanuc emitter.

We also use UCCNC for some European customers. tbh, we can integrate any controller that the customer wants, no biggie.

At the moment we are about to introduce a headless RTOS based on an RPi with our hardware, as well as a PC Software like LinuxCNC/Mach4/Pro along with the associated hardware. Lots of things in dev.

We do have a sales website, but our machines are not suitable for continuous metal working and definitely not ferrous, they are all electrospindle based.
