Help me make my lathe better

Sorry I don't know if CME ships to Canada. I had contemplated to make my L0 adapter, but for that price decided my money, time and efforts could be spent better else where.
If you do buy one, choose the closest o.d which matches the o.d of your intended chuck. Then machine a lip on your adapter plate to match your chuck recess. Then locate your mounting holes and drill to size. Bingo your lathe chuck situation has been improved.

I would be interested to know if anyone on this forum uses a Vevor chuck and what they think about it.
There advertisement looks promising. Hardened steel chuck body, but the jaws and guides to 58-62 hrs.
TIR of .002" and out of the 4 reviews it seems ok. I am so tempted.

Just in case I need to make the one I have larger one day.

I see.

My version of that is to just buy a bigger one.

Normally, you cut the backplate to the same diameter as the chuck, then cut a lip for the chuck to register on, then remove the back plate, put the two halves together and then mark, drill, and thread for the attachment bolts. Then put it all back on the lathe to align and tighten.

For really big chucks, the back plate is often a smaller OD than the chuck.
