  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Hello!

Welcome Quinn from southern AB.

I’ve found your videos extremely informative over the years and really appreciate them as a resource.

I’m self taught at machining, reading books, asking questions on this forum, and watching YouTube, and you are one of the people that I’ll always watch to see how you do it.

I’m sure you’ll find the guys helpful here and the atmosphere generally great. A lot of people from different backgrounds with different skills.

There’s also the classifieds here, and the “underground” network of material/tool/supplies sharing that occurs which, with the cost of everything can be invaluable…..

Hello everyone!

I'm Quinn and I occasionally make silly videos on YouTube about model engineering. A viewer just let me know that this forum exists so here I am! Glad to be here.

Hello from Osoyoos, the South Okanagan!
I saw some of your first videos a few years ago and watched you evolve.
Welcome to this group of mad metal wierdos and moreso, welcome to Canada.
We are honored to have you here.

There is, in fact, at least one drive thru, cold beer n wine store, here in Kelowna....I'm too indecisive to use it...I'd cause a traffic jam...
No doubt its great for the name brand only kids...but my beer tastes expanded with the explosion of micro brewery offerings...
I like to browse...because sometimes I shop by $$, others the label, and even then I sub divide that by name and colour...
Thanks OCD/ADHD
What should take 5mins is usually 20...
The better 3/4's learned a long time ago to not wait in the car.

Welcome to the mad house from Lillooet BC..... We have a couple unofficial rules to go along with the official "roommate agreement" that you signed when you first joined... pictures, most of us read them better than words, so they're mighty handy for those of us that rely on them. And, if at all possible, thread drift, it's strongly recommend, many of us, or, perhaps just me have short attention spans and can't follow single topics very long.....
Oh, and one that I have heard hopeful wispers of adoption....... The new guy buys the first round.... Oh yeah, been a subscriber for longer than I can remember....... And if I remember correctly, it's been quite a while. :p

I was in Ohio once….
My only experience with a true drive-into/through Beer Store was just South of Wapakoneta, OH (birthplace of Neil Armstrong) in the early 90's. Jax Liquors in Jacksonville, Fl (ca. 1976) had drive up windows, and most also had a bar attached.
