Welcome from Prince Edward County a couple hours east of you. I can't see me ever calling myself a blacksmith, but I am gearing up to do some stock removal knife making. Maybe if all goes well in the future, I would like to try my hand at creating some simple pattern welded blades ("Damascus"). Looks like you are a serious metal beater. 
That sword is a big project for sure. Enjoy the forum and hopefully you can pick up some good info from all the experienced people here (I'm not one of them as I'm just a newbie ).
