  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Hey everyone, I been scrolling the site and excited to see the wealth of knowledge here! Looking forward to reading through the many great threads.
I recently retired after a career as a millwright in the mining industry. We decided to move to Alberta bought a place with a 5000sqft shop to start a small business. I am slowly finding equipment, at auctions, marketplace, kijiji.... So far I bought cabinets, a milling machine, ridgit threader, 75 tonne press, welding/burning equipment. Currently on the look out for a portable line boring equipment, a lathe (36" centers min), dividing head, tooling, hydraulic hose crimper/ cutter.

That would be great, let me know if they know of a good used one for sale! I found one but it's a 12 hr drive
