Hello from Abbotsford!
I'm a cnc programmer from the lower mainland with about 15 years of experience. 3,4 and 5 axis mills, lathes, and a little bit of mill/turn. SolidWorks, gibbscam, mastercam, and fusion 360. I also do some custom post processor editing for fusion.
In my free time I make knives, I've figured out a method for hard machining the bevel, so the only process I do by hand is sharpening the final edge. I stabilize burl wood for the handles myself.
I used to have my own home shop in my parents garage, with a manual mill, lathe and drill press, 3x4 CNC router and a little hobby CNC Mill, but unfortunately that property was sold and now all my equipment is in storage. I'm lucky enough to have full access to all the machines at work on the weekends though, which are much better equipped anyways.
Always wishing I had more time/energy for my own projects.
