@Susquatch trying to set the hook again, not going to happen. LOL
Dusty mentioned in post # 31, "How did Moose Jaw get it's name? Story goes like this, early settlers were seen hammering their red river cart wheels with the jaw bone of a moose down by the creek. Natives camped close by witnessed this so the name stuck, Moose Jaw!"
This well known story was widely circulated over the years however, when I checked at the city of Moose Jaw web page it has become something else. I stand corrected just when I thought I had the true facts, go figure! LOL There was no intent on my part to fudge this story, sorry about that.

Great news, on a brighter note Lee Valley just informed me my oil can set has been shipped. Yahoo!
You got me thinking, maybe the Hat has a similar website. Lo and behold it does!
Just like you, the story is a bit different than the one I was told - but similar enough. In my story she just had to have sex with the serpent. In the official version on the medicine hat website, the warrier killed her and threw her into the river for the serpent to consume.
I like my version a lot better. My wife wouldn't call it much of a sacrifice though. She seems to enjoy a good romp with an anaconda. .
Edit - Here is a link to Medicine Hat's Story which includes a brick mural depicting it.
