I went with 0.02 / PD.. let you know how it goes.. wont be all assembled until practically the day b4... They kicked this beast off with only 3 weeks.. seems the board has no sense of time......... So I reckon that tomorrow evening we should have a better idea of how much clearance is needed
Looks great, anxiously awaiting the video of it in action.![]()
CNC sure makes life easier..Not sure if there is any good information in here but....
I am sleeping all day Sunday..!!! then back to work after a month layoff. I have been going strong now for 10 weeks even before this project with the walls ..Your gonna need a week off after this one. An enormous amount of time and effort, well done.
The popcorn is ready and waiting for the first spin. lol
I had to go back & see how the clearance story ended. Do you mean you 'offset' 0.02" to adjoining pitch diameters.... or?I went with 0.02 / PD.. let you know how it goes..
For example, if the PD is 5.000, I made it 5.020... I can run group 1 and 2 without issue. On group 3 it binds at one of the little gears way up the line. The 3D printed parts are failing too (slowly).. I am looking a design change using shoulder bolts for the male shafts, into an aluminum base and spacers.I had to go back & see how the clearance story ended. Do you mean you 'offset' 0.02" to adjoining pitch diameters.... or?
Then what about a train of gears like A,B,C,D - was B offset from A 0.02" then C was offset from B by 0.02" ?
Good thing you didn't have a planetary gear setup LOL
Sait has a maker space. U of C has one. Fuse is another space. There are several others, if you do a search they should come up.Looks great, watched it all through. You did a lot of work, to get that put together and working. The maker space looks great too. I think there is one in Calgary, haven't been to it, just watched some video about it. By the time I would have paid for fuel to get to it and their fees, not sure as to fezeablity for me.(dam spell check, I think it's gave up on me). I am sure they have some equipment I would like to try or use.
