  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Tool Gauge Blocks - Am I the only one with missing/extras

Tool
success!

I am missing a few in my shop set, but I was holding back so see how @slow-poke made out.

If I have them, they are yours!

I have a really good Mitutoyo grade 0 reference set, a Mitutoyo grade 2 shop set, and a partial set (unknown grade) I got for just this situation. My mitutoyo Grade 2 set doesn't have the two working gage blocks, so I usually just use a block from my extra blocks set instead. Someday when I find them at a reasonable price, I'll buy a pair of working gage blocks.

Are you talking the standard .100 wear blocks?

Yes, "wear blocks" is the correct term. I have seen them as 0.100 and as 0.050. Other sizes might exist too.

Edit - I'm also looking for 2mm wear blocks.

I’ll try to check when I get bavk in a couple weeks or so. If you’re okay with ‘very close’ I know there were some .100x (tenths) blocks, just not sure sizes. I think I also saw a .100 or two, but since I was hunting for .147/.149, I kind of ignored what else was there.

Okay, thanks to Susquatch, I'm only missing one now, a 0.149"
