get one Craig?
i was hoping someone would have first hand knowledge- but i figured it was worth the $30 to see myself. Just ordered - to arrive today.

Edit - Amazon arriving Nov 5

Appears to me that the lock only fixes the size (jaw gap) and doesn't actually clamp the workpiece.
In the link in my post above - the wording implies it clamps. Near the bottom of that link there is a short video that shows that it does indead clamp. The reviewer said: “like an adjustable and visegrip combined”
A metric one to boot too.
Yep! (see pic below from the link provided) - it is both left handed & metric on one side and right handed and imperial when you flip it over. Amazing!!!

Today's finds...
From left to right we have ...
1. An 18" Walworth "Genuine Stillson"
2. Another 18", but this is a Cochran Model 1910 (check out the pivot mech atop the adjuster barrel
3. A 14" E.T.F. Ltd piece. Under ETF it has St. Catherine stamped
4. At 9" long, all I can see on this shifting spanner is an encircled letter E, and evidence that this guy spent more time in the hand as a hammer then as a wrench...
5. Another 9". A Frost & Wood. This one's got a step on the fixed side of the jaws. No hammer use that I can see. But...cast clearly on one side of the grip is Made In Canada.

The FIL must've hit a lot of yard and estate sales here methinks
