It's been a year since I bought this 50mm facemill.

It's seen quite a bit of use, milling mostly 4140HT and hardened lathe tools.

I've been very happy with the performance of the cutter, but I've been absolutely astounded by the inserts that came with it.
I have yet to index them, still working on the first corner.
It doesn't leave quite as pretty a finish as a fly-cutter, but even after all this use the finish is buttery smooth to the touch.

I'm so impressed that I ordered 2 more packs of the inserts and one of these, which uses the same ones.

Same experience here. The first one was mated to a MT3 arbor so I passed it on the new owner of my old round column mill. I quickly purchased a new one with an R8 arbor for the new mill.

For me the first link goes to a 238 dollar 2 axis DRO.

I also purchased an assortment of inserted milling cutters that use the APKT/APMT inserts. Since they come in metric sizes, I picked the ones that I could turn the shanks to common inch sizes. At first I wasn't impressed, mostly by the inserts. Then I found the same grade of Lamina inserts as above in that configuration. I've made some serious piles of chips with them.
