Oh jeeeez, don't apologize for anything. Rantings and wildly off topic talks start here at the drop of the hat or toque depending on the weather.Um, uh... Sorry I asked? (Didn't mean to start a ravings...! )

ah no slippy slope logic. Statistics prove that the involvement of weapons in robbery increases the chance of injury or death of the victim.
Twenty or so years ago I opened a Fecalbook account. I posted quite a few photos for family to see. A few months later Fecalbook announced that anything that was posted on the Fecalbook site they owned the copyright to. There was a lot of complaints and Fecalbook ended up posting a link where you could delete your account I deleted mine and would never return.
So I think it's reasonable to think it's only a matter of time before someone does die.
You just described the Costco return line….. summers over better take these back and get winter stuff. The only issue I've had, 20 years of selling a lot of stuff, was a wanker who wanted to return an item because he decided he didn't need it. Really annoying, but not knowing what sort of nutbar they might be, I just said fine and gave them their money back .... and asked them never to contact me again. That is more than offset by a number people I've met with similar interests who have become friends over the years
since when dont people on the interwebs want to start a good rant?Um, uh... Sorry I asked? (Didn't mean to start a ravings...! )
Note, I'm not paranoid, but within the last couple of years have been on the receiving end of at least a few attempts to lure me to locations to pick up items worth a lot of money. And despite what McGyver says about phone numbers, you cant trust that a phone number will trace back to anyone real due to the proliferation of software based anonymous phone apps.Weapon by who - Victim or robber?
no say it isn't so Joe, say it isn't so...I just tried searching for a tool box on Facebook marketplace after missing out on the Princess Auto score that Slow poke got. Seems that is the biggest cesspool of scammers around. I can't even spend another minute looking for a legitimate seller, its got to be 80-90% scam ads at this point. Here's my assessment of the first page worth of ads for Tool Chest on marketplace - X's are scams.

whoa slick way to imply I'm a racist with that offhand remark.I use Marketplace heavily and it's way better than Kijiji these days after someone else told me to transition. I've purchased and sold so many things from phones to backyard furniture and meeting folks at my house, at other people's house, in a parking lot, in coffee shops, at night and days etc.
I looked up tool boxes and only spot a few scams. Maybe being in Toronto just means the seer number of real ads wash away the fake ones.
The abstraction of aggregated and uncritical data on issues of "crime" is problematic on many levels. It's a slippery slope logic to connect all these together so casually. Might as well pull in immigrants into this with some other "data".
It's the standard lefty tactic, disagree with anything and you're the big "R"whoa slick way to imply I'm a racist with that offhand remark.

I'm not implying anything of that sort. I'm pointing out the mobilizing of personal sense of safety and tactics (which is legitimate to each) and then casually linking it to universal claim of crime and violence, then sprinkling abstract universal statistics to legitamize said personal claims is what I mean by slippery slope. You can bundle any sorts of claims this way.whoa slick way to imply I'm a racist with that offhand remark.
