Fabricator’s Squares | Hand Tools | Edmonton | Kijiji
WeldTables.com CertiFlat welder’s, fabricator’s squares. 12” x 12”x 4”, price is for a pair. You will need to assemble and weld together.

I think small tacks would be ok. I don't honestly understand everyone's (home shop) desire for something to hold 2 pieces of metal "perfectly" square though and then weld it. Gonna pull lolI wonder how square they are after they are welded together.
How good of a welder are you?I wonder how square they are after they are welded together.

More often then not I set something up by eye/hand a bit obtuse, and tack the inside corner letting the weld pull it closed and checking it with a square before tacking up the other corners then welding out. These fab tables, squares, alignment jigs etc have their place, and within that place the save a boat load of time, but for one offs and stuff, you can have more time involved in setting up all these square and jigs than just welding it. And you could STILL have a pretzle when done if you don't know what you're doing.I think small tacks would be ok. Yeah for someone doing a lot of fixturing, or production fab shops they are ideal, but YouTube has turned every hobbyist into thinking they need a certiflat welding table with fireball everything to do any type of welding.More often then not I set something up by eye/hand a bit obtuse, and tack the inside corner letting the weld pull it closed and checking it with a square before tacking up the other corners then welding out. They're pretty cool though, and if I had a large shop and unlimited money I'd have all of it, but I have neither of those things
Been there, done that! And you could STILL have a pretzle when done if you don't know what you're doing.
