The zip ties holding the gear levers in position raises some concerns. As does the profusely leaking gearbox. And the hacked in VFD.

Don't think it's worth that, but probably won't be around long

I was wondering if he did that because he just uses the VFD to change speeds and maybe he has the rpm set on the VFD in that gear?

It looks rough, but who knows under all the slime.

Could be, why not just remove the handles? I'd shift the gears and make sure they engage if I were looking at it.

Hard to say why people do what they do, but I agree with you lol.

Maybe it's been used mostly for drilling with that little x/y vise on it. The y gib screw looks like it has a lot of adjustment left.

Never really know til you go look.

Could be, but when I see that I think "there's a guy who almost certainly didn't oil the thing when he used it". Speaks to me of an attitude toward how you treat your things so it would have to be a fraction of that price to compel, but that's just me. Working hard on getting old and crusty :)

Related to Karen dreamland perhaps? https://canadianhobbymetalworkers.com/threads/lantaine-peachland-4-900.10795/
The updated price of $1800 is a pretty good deal on an RF45 really.(In Alberta, if the internals are all ok)
