Don’t activate wifi on your appliances, tvs etc. but lots of that info is captured by the streaming services anyway. And I notice I have to keep turning off cookies on my banking app and web browser. Is TD, visa, Mastercard, selling my transactions from the back end anyway? Time for the regulators and enforcement to step up. How about an import tax to pay for it? 0.1% or $10? We have to demand it of our MPs.

How about the new wireless water meter the city wants to put in my house next week?

We have had a wireless water meter for quite some time ! Interesting watching the meter van driving down the road at about five or six miles per hour.

Actually the water people did me a favor when they put the new water meter in. Our main stop cock is in the footpath about four feet down with brick lined Cavity it now has a plastic lid, it used to be cast iron.

Unbeknown to us the hole under the cast iron lid had collapsed and the stop cock was unreachable, the brickwork was filling the cavity, probably collapsed due to the traffic on the road. The water people dug the cavity out, fitted a new stop cock, a water meter and replaced the old cracked cast iron cover and lid with new a one.

Interestingly the replacement stop cock is plastic and the water meter can be seen and read by lifting the plastic cover, the cavity is also a large 10 or 12 inch diameter plastic pipe.
