I just watched the first part of this video of a plant in China assembling electric car wheel hub motors. I was impressed - like I am whenever pretty much anybody makes anything...
At minute 7:00 there is a 'megger' meter testing the coils for leakage. I can't read the mandarin but the voltage and passing ohm ranges are pretty clear.

At minute 12:00 there is a galvo head laser burning a label into the paint.
At minute 14:00 there is a machine which installs 8 socket cap head screws all at once. It goes by fast but a lot happens, screws get fed down tubes, they all get set and spun in. wow.
@Susquatch and anyone else with factory experience - is this what factories are like anywhere everywhere these days? It's pretty impressive and making those motors seems a lot easier than making a gasoline engine...
the motor section is about 15 minutes.
