DRO out with the old in with the new

My Supermax mill is from 1986, I am not sure what era this DRO is pretty dang old... Pretty much reading and zero only.
I spotted this new never used Mitutoyo for a good price so it's upgraded time. I can live with 2 axis.
But I now can work on Imperial on this machine, do bolt circles and lots of fun tricks like the 1/2 function.

Did you have to do anything special to get it to work with your existing scales? DB-9 connections or something else?

BTW, I think it was a tip on here that helped me to understand how useful the Absolute / Incremental functions can be. There are all kinds of times when setting a particular coordinate to zero makes it simpler to do series of operations and then go back to the overall coordinate system. Once you start doing it, the use cases keep popping up.

DRO's have gotten so cheap now you can put one on everything.

A friend of mine bought a two axis dro with scales for under $125 CND from Walmart online. Go figure that!

@trlvn Yes I ordered the adapters, should arrive this week.
The most helpful tutorial has been from @Blondihacks on using the different features. But I will be sure to check out more.

Yes Chinese DRO's are cheap, I have one on my lathe. The Japanese Mitutoyo units are just a little nicer in fit and finish department.
