Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. If it is a D1-5 and it fits a Canada post flat rate box, I'll happily find a home for it.
I've never seen a d1-5 plate with just 2 cam bolts, but why not!
Makes me wonder why I didn't think of that when I made custom chucks. Solves the problem of internal clearances with odd Spacing. You could do 2, or 3, or 6.

Very interesting that I never thought about only using 2 or 3 cam locks. If you only knew how many times I've wrestled with all 6. Would have been easy to remove them to get 2, 3, or 6. So various screw patterns would fit. It's a whole new world!
Both my D1-6 collet chucks have three pins - not a backing plate, built like that. Two seems fine for a drive plate, but given the cam lock is suppose to be be the slightest of interference fits if I could call it that, three or six is probably better for anything else.
My past needs would have been fine with 2, and certainly with 3. I fought with working around all 6 sooooo many times. Sooooo blind, sooooo dumb.
It's just like lug nuts on the 1 ton, so much quicker changing out the snowies with just 2.
